The holidays have only just begun, and unsurprisingly, this year’s celebrations call for an extra helping of logistics, an added dash of ingenuity, and more than just a pinch of creativity. When it comes to caroling and candle lighting and cherishing those much-needed days off, we’ve got an in-depth game plan to help you navigate both the unknown and all-too-familiar days of holiday present. Keep reading for your full holiday break play-by-play!
A Day of Holiday Shopping…
Okay, let’s be honest. This one is a bit controversial, depending on who you ask! For some people, finding the perfect present for parents, friends, employees, significant others, teachers, even neighbors, is an olympic sport for which they begin training in September. For others, gifting always feels like a journey into the great unknown. And for others still, it can feel like a chore even in the best of times. Wherever you fall on this spectrum under normal circumstances, this year, with malls closed, store hours limited, and distribution centers operating at reduced capacity, checking everyone off your list is bound to be a bit more difficult.
Your Shopping Day Game Plan
First thing’s first: start early! Still have gifts to buy? Streamlining your approach will help you get everything done in a single day. Rule 1: Forget shop ‘til you drop. Wake up bright and early with a glass of Energy Multiplier—one stick is comparable to 1-2 cups of coffee-- to upgrade your energy and feel great from start to finish. Now, it’s time to make a list of names and types of gifts your recipients might like. Once you have this, do your best to consolidate several names into each gift category (for example: books, wellness, home goods, etc.). Try to find small businesses and local stores that may be able to accommodate several of your gifting needs. Check to see if they have online or curbside pickup options. Remember: holiday shopping doesn’t have to take forever! Planning ahead and fueling accordingly will make it easier to focus on the task at hand.
A Day of Holiday Cooking…
For some people, preparing an elaborate feast is the highlight of the holiday season. No matter how little we cook from January to October, when our friends and families come around for the holidays, we jump at the chance to transform into mini Martha Stewarts and wow them with our annual culinary masterpiece. This year, whether you’re cooking for a smaller crowd or planning a meal that will impress Zoom partygoers based on looks alone, we’ve got you covered.
Your Cooking Day Game Plan
Spending all day in the kitchen? Checking in with yourself mentally and physically is a great way to preserve your stamina and keep your cool when you’ve been baking for hours, your kitchen is a mess, and your list of things to do still feels endless. Focus on your breath and remember to stay hydrated. We don’t think of cooking as a high intensity sport, but the fact is, whisking, chopping, mincing, and kneading (not to mention the cleanup process) can take a lot out of you. Take a break from cooking and have a glass of Hydration Multiplier, which can hydrate you 2-3x faster than water alone.
A Day Out With the Family…
Spending time with the people you love is the double-edged sword that makes the holidays simultaneously lovely and a bit stressful. Squeezing in some quality time with the family during our measly two days off from work can put pressure on us to make the most of every precious hour. We all know what it’s like to step off of a five-hour plane trip and walk into our childhood bedroom only to be bombarded by an action-packed itinerary of back-to-back activities for the next 48 hours. This year, even if we don’t have plans to travel across the country to see our families, our days are somehow still jam-packed with Zoom celebrations and socially distant outings.
Your Family Day Out Game Plan
With social distancing measures in place, this year, you don’t have to be an outdoorsy person to find yourself heading out on an early morning hike with the fam. If you’re not used to brisk walking or early call times (or, even if you are), we’ll let you in on a little secret: a successful day out starts with a restful night in! Skip the made-for-tv Christmas movie marathon and head to bed early with a warm mug of Sleep Multiplier. This fast-acting formula can help you eazzz into sleep faster and wake up ready to hit the trails with the people you love.
Follow these play-by-plays to help you get the most out of your holiday, whatever it throws your way. You got this, LIV Fam!
